About Madeira Digital

Who we are

A small editorial team, based in Funchal, that has followed Madeira’s digital ecosystem for several years. We work part-time on the kind of research no one else does because it doesn’t scale: reading funding notices line by line, confirming provider data against public registries, and re-verifying every quarter.

We are not an agency. We do not sell digital services. Our only product is curation — and the only thing we have to lose if the curation becomes biased is credibility.

Why this exists

Madeira has over 7,000 SMEs and a serious portfolio of digital-funding programs — MADEIRA2030, IDR, Startup Madeira, ACIF. The problem is not a lack of programs. It is three things:

• Scattered information. Funding programs are spread across dozens of portals and PDFs with their own deadlines.
• Unknown providers. It is hard to know who actually delivers — and who does not — digital or AI solutions in the region.
• Lack of readiness. When programs open, most businesses do not have the documentation needed to apply.

Madeira Digital answers all three: it monitors the notices, verifies the providers, and publishes the resources that help you arrive at an application prepared.

How we work

Our editorial cycle is simple and repetitive:

1. Primary research — every funding notice is read at the source (official portal). Every provider is confirmed in public registries (RNPC, Portal das Finanças) before being listed.
2. Publish with sources — every article cites its origin portal, and every provider profile states which verification tier was applied (T1, T2 or T3).
3. Quarterly re-verification — active profiles lose tier if public activity drops; dormant profiles leave the directory.
4. Public correction — factual errors are corrected quickly and the change is visible on the page.

How we are funded

Madeira Digital does not sell advertising, does not charge to list, does not charge to upgrade verification tier, and does not take commission on projects that users contract from listed providers.

The operation is funded by non-commercial institutional partnerships and by the team’s broader editorial work on parallel projects related to the regional digital ecosystem. If this model changes, this page will be updated before the change takes effect.
